Series relevanceAfter Gaius Baltar's capture and imprisonment in Season 3, Baltar writes a book telling his life story and his belief regarding the oppression of the working class of the Twelve Colonies by the "aristocracy", particularly the "Caprican elite". This book, entitled , is introduced in "Dirty Hands", having been smuggled out by Baltar's former lawyer, Alan Hughes. Pages from this incomplete manifesto are taken from Baltar in "Dirty Hands" at Laura Roslin's order. Later, the book is referenced in "The Son Also Rises" by Romo Lampkin, who views the manifesto as having great promise. After Baltar's trial, a copy of the book is seen repeatedly on the shrine in the commune housing Baltar's "nymph squad" in Season 4, beginning with "He That Believeth In Me". NotesThis prop is also directly related to Gaius Baltar's ballpoint pen, as he uses this to write the manifesto. While in council with Baltar, Romo Lampkin steals the pen from Baltar in order to effectively silence him from adding to the manifesto, thus aiding to the belief that he was silenced by Laura Roslin and Admiral William Adama. The pen is also used by Lampkin in a ploy to effectively remove Caprica-Six as a willing witness in Baltar's trial (The Son Also Rises). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
