Help:Wizards

From Battlestar Wiki Props, the free, open content Battlestar Galactica encyclopedia and episode guide

Jump to: navigation, search

Wizards are a way of entering information in the Battlestar Wiki Props reference.

Each wizard is just slightly different, but shares many of the same features and attributes, as outlined below:

[Item] Name
The name of the item. Please follow the naming conventions when naming an item.
Season and Series [Item] Appears In
Select from the check boxes which season the item is featured or mentioned in. In the select box on the right, select which series the item is featured in. (To select multiple items, hold down the control key or the Apple key on Mac computers while selecting the options.)
Seen in episodes
By default, all the selection boxes are disabled until you select the series from the series box. Multiple items can be selected on this item by holding down the control key (or the Apple key on Macs) while selecting the items.
Image
The image of the item. Refer to our Image repository for the name. (There is no automatic way to select the name from the list at this time.) Format should be similar to: Image name.jpg
Gallery
The XML file of the gallery. Format should be similar to: Gallery name.xml. (The XML file should be uploaded to the Wiki.)
Lead paragraph
The introduction paragraph. Typically, it summarizes what the item is, what it does, and other features worthy of initial note.
Lead paragraphs are formatted like so:
Item name is a item that is seen in this episode. It serves this purpose.
The lead paragraph should not be overly detailed, as this is what the other sections are able to serve.
Series Appearances / Series Relevance
This section tells the reader where it can be seen, as well as notes its multiple appearances, and its relevance to the series. Typically, this is what the item does "in universe".
Origins
If available, this tells the reader what the prop is built from. It gives measurements, as well as notes the building materials, and other attributes. All this information is "out of universe" — otherwise in a place known as reality, outside of that concocted by Hollywood or Vancouver.
Notes
Any additional notes that don't fit well anywhere else.
