A bottle of wine from the Leonis colony, the Leonis Estates Sparkling Wine, survives the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.

Series relevance

This bottle first appears in the Season 2 episode "Flight of the Phoenix" at the ceremony for the Blackbird craft at the end of that episode. It is presented to Laura Roslin, after Galen Tyrol reveals that the prototype craft is named Laura in her honor. Jokingly, she feints smashing the bottle on the side of the ship, as is traditionally done to boats and other crafts before they make their first voyage. (Smashing the bottle on the Blackbird's hull would have likely damaged the carbon composite material of the skin.)

After popping the cork, Roslin hands it back to Tyrol, who take a swig of it during the ceremonies.

This bottle prop, or one very much like it, appears later in the episode "Scar" from the last half of Season 2 (dubbed "Season 2.5"). After Louanne "Kat" Katraine kills Scar, an ace Cylon Raider, Kara "Starbuck" Thrace pours wine from this bottle into the Top Gun stein that Katraine drinks from. After pouring Katraine wine, Thrace tearfully goes on to list the callsigns of all the pilots who have died since their flight from the Colonies to those at Katraine's victory celebration.
